"My little lad absolutely loved these, and to be honest so did I! He would smash them straight up or with a wee smattering of almond butter. I will definitely be buying again. Thanks! Mihali

What do we put in our pikelets to make them so good?

Spelt flour: is carbohydrate rich and provides quick energy and fiber helping baby’s (and your) gut microbiome flourish and balances blood sugar. It’s also jam packed with zinc, folate, vitamin B6, magnesium, selenium and a touch of iron and protein.

Oats: A healthy carbohydrate, fiber rich with a special form of fiber called beta-glucan which is great for gut and immune health. Plus, they have decent protein levels (supports sleep - yay for sleep!) and a great source of zinc – to keep that baby’s health in tip top shape and supports taste and smell! Phytonutrients, heard of them? A plant compound that has a heap of benefits to the human body – our friend the rolled oat is full of them!

Freeze-dried fruit, vegetable, and legume powders: Did you know that freeze dried fruit powders still contain around 96% of their original nutrients. So, when we say there’s fruit or vegetables in every pikelet, we really mean it!

Each pikelet flavour contains two fruit, vegetable, or legume powders.

Chocolate: black bean and beetroot. Black beans are full of fiber, carbohydrates, and protein as well as plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. They are a great source of B-vitamins, iron, and zinc too. Beetroot is also full of fiber and folate plus they contain carotenoids, phenols and other plant nutrients that act as antioxidants.

Carrot cake: carrot and apple. Carrots have fiber and vitamin B6 plus carotenoids which convert to vitamin A in the body and help healthy vision. Apples act as a natural sweetener and contain fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and antioxidants.

Lemon poppyseed: lemon and apple. Lemons contain high amounts of vitamin C which helps with immunity and the body to absorb iron. The also contain potassium and fiber and have anti-inflammatory plant-based compounds. Apples, see above.

How Tiny Tummy started…

Hi, I’m Zoé Tiny Tummy founder and mix-maker.

I have studied with Oh Baby Nutrition to become a Certified Nutrition Consultant specialising in babies - starting solids, what foods to eat and nutrients to focus on and how to support eczema and constipation in infants and toddlers.

Before Tiny Tummy I owned a café for over 7 years in New Plymouth and during some of that time I worked as the head chef. I have always had a passion for food and baking – my Gran taught me how to make pikelets, cakes, and cookies from a very young age. I loved being the head chef for the creativity side of it. I sold the café at the beginning of 2023 after I had my daughter Maeve.

I had always wanted to have a child and Maeve has really added so much joy to my life and she is my inspiration for Tiny Tummy. It is so hard to find products that aren’t filled with unnecessary ingredients or high sugar and sodium and that still actually contain some nutrients – so say hello to Tiny Tummy mixes! I use premium ingredients in my mixes to get the most out of every bite. There are no preservatives, colours or added sugar or salt so my mixes are suitable for babies from 7 months, toddlers, kids, and adults alike. Our mixes are designed to take some of the stress of feeding your family away by making it quick and easy to whip up a meal or yummy snacks that you can share together. See our serving suggestion page for topping ideas and serving size guides for babies.
